Practicum
We offer a variety of practicum opportunities for those who have completed an approved mediation training within the past three years.
Participants in our Mediation Practicum Program gain valuable hands-on mediation experience and observation hours to meet the requirements to get on the state court roster of mediators.
Basic Mediation Practicum
What you’ll get: Hands-on mediation experience, mentorship from experienced mediators, and the ability to participate in other Mountain Mediation training opportunities.
Prerequisites
Completion of a Utah court-qualified basic mediation training within the past three years.
Components
Trainees in Mountain Mediation’s Basic Mediation Practicum will:
Complete 10 hours observing a court-qualified mediator
Gain mediation experience by co-mediating or solo-mediating 10 hours of mediation
Participate in debriefing sessions after observations and mediations
Timing
The time required to complete a Basic Mediation Practicum varies depending on availability of cases and schedules.
Commitment
It could take up to a year for you to achieve the hours required to complete the course.

To be paid prior to beginning the practicum
Observation Practicum - $150
Co-Mediation/Mediation Practicum - $300
Full Practicum - $425
*Mountain Mediation is now offering individualized opportunities to help individuals who may have completed some of the practicum requirements. Individual opportunities are $30 per mediation. Please complete the same application.
